The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for protecting an organization’s computer systems and networks from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring security systems, analyzing security breaches, and implementing measures to prevent future attacks. The analyst will work closely with IT teams to enhance the company’s security posture.
Roles of Cyber Security Analyst:
- Security Monitoring and Analysis:Analyze security breaches to determine their root cause and impact.
- Incident Response: respond to security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Threat Intelligence:Gather and analyze threat intelligence to stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
- Security Policies and Procedures: Develop and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Security Awareness Training: Conduct security awareness training sessions for employees to promote best practices in information security.
- Risk Assessment: Maintain a risk register and track the implementation of risk mitigation measures.
Profile
- Level 3 diploma in one of the following areas: Healthcare science, Administration / academic study or Information Technology or able to demonstrate equivalent level or relevant experience
- Good standard of general education to GCSE level (GCSE grade C / 4 or above in English, Maths) or equivalent
- Experience of working in a healthcare / laboratory setting
- Experience of audit
- Competent user of computer software packages including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Full UK driving license and ability to work at off site locations as required.
